The Midwest Queer Comedy Festival was founded in 2017 as a way to expose audiences to different comedic voices. The first festival, was held after months of planning in 2018, in Columbus, Oh. Over 5 nights more than 50 comedians, from across the United States and Canada performed in 17 different and unique shows, while raising money for local charities.
Designed as a floating festival, MQCF finds a new host city yearly. The festival will return in 2019, this time being held in Louisville Kentucky.
Dwayne Duke, originally from Cleveland, Oh, is a casual drunk who came to party. He's been performing since 2011. This festival has been a dream and a goal ever since.
Keith McGill is clever, insightful, and a little bit eye-opening. His comedy is truth with a twist. Indianapolis’ NUVO said, "Keith McGill has a style that is smooth and temperate, and lacks any gaudy gimmicks or catch phrases, making him one of the best standup acts within earshot... His material is positive and PG-13, yet still intelligently critical of the comical absurdities [of life]...The Louisville native is impossible not to like." Keith was also a STANDUP NBC Competition finalist. As well as touring internationally on Royal Caribbean and Holland America Cruise Lines, Keith has appeared on BET, CMT, LAUGHS on FOX and is a Bob and Tom Show favorite, and a much sought-after entertainer for corporate events.
Reed Sedgwick is a Louisville comic. Their hands were described as “struggling birds” by Louisville Magazine in the announcement that their open mic, Comedy Collider, was Best Open Mic Night of Louisville, 2016. In 2018, they mounted Headcase, their one-person show about psychosis, as part of Louisville Fringe Festival.
Said to have a “takes no shit look” on their face by Leo Weekly, Sedgwick has taken part in Midwest Queer Comedy Festival, Whiskey Bear Comedy Festival, Accidental Comedy Festival, and won local honors in their hometown. Once, after not winning a comedy competition, a judge told them, “That wasn’t preachy at all.” That’s because Sedgwick writes jokes from an outsider’s perspective that are for everyone to enjoy

Gabi Gauger is not a comedian though people do say that she is funny. She is a full-time traveler with an eye for detail. She produces two music festivals of her own, Big “G” Jam & The Fall Down, annually in upstate New York where she is from with her company, Hey Dude After Hours. In the summer months, Gabi can be found traveling the country in her trusty ‘95 Chevy van, Bessie, working at music festivals and other large events across the country. In the cold months, the only place to find her would be on her blog www.gabigogos.com as she will most surely be on a beach somewhere warm. IG: @gabigogos - Warning: blog contains adult content.
